Sharing documents from your own domain

By default, mails sent to share documents are sent using the email address sharing@touch-sell.com. The users email addresses are added as a Reply-to, to make sure they will receive the replies.

It is possible to set up your domain to allow Touch&Sell to send mails with your domain, via a DKIM set up.

Benefits:

✅ Let users send out document sharing using their company email address

✅ Shared emails are less likely to be considered as spam


Cooperate with your IT department if terms like CNAME, DNS, SPF and DKIM settings sound unfamiliar:

  • DKIM is a signature key for the message that proves that the content has not been altered by a server along the way.
  • SPF et SenderID allow domain owners to add a file or record to the server, which the receiving server then cross-checks. The Sender Policy Framework (SPF) is an email validation protocol designed to detect and block spoofing and verify that incoming mail from a domain originates from an IP address authorised by the domain administrator.


1st step: Set up your domain DNS

From your domain’s DNS, create the following CNAME records :

  • touchsell1._domainkey IN CNAME 1.dkim.touch-sell.net.
  • touchsell2._domainkey IN CNAME 2.dkim.touch-sell.net.

2nd step: SPF registration 

Sender Policy Framework (SPF) is an email validation protocol designed to detect and block email spoofing and verifies that incoming mail from a domain comes from an IP Address authorized by the domain administrator.

This step will improve deliverability and enhance security in addition to the DKIM that we currently configure.

To make an SPF configuration in your DNS, you must add the address of our server, bo.touch-sell.net, to the list of servers authorized to send emails. 

 

Please add an SPF configuration with ONE of the following two values:

 

include:bo.touch-sell.net OR ip4:213.32.49.231

 

We recommend that you use the value "ip4" rather than "include"

 

3rd step: Approval and set up by Touch&Sell

Contact your CSM or our Support Team, to let us know which domain has been set up. We will then verify your domain and set it up so mails can be sent from this domain.

 

Attention points:

  1. If your users use differents domains (i.e @yourdomain.com and @yourdomain.net) make sure to set up each of them. 
  2. The timespan of the changes to the DNS settings can take up to 24h to fully populate. That's the maximum time needed for all servers to know the changed records. We advise you to wait and try to verify the settings again on the next day.
  3. Confirm with your IT team that the sending domains have been configured on the company's domain side.
  4. Make sure there are no extra spaces or missing letters in the settings. We advise copy-pasting keys and values to make sure everything is correct.
